IP Allowlist

By default, your cluster accepts requests from any IP address that has a valid API key. If you want to only accept requests from your own servers, you can add their IP addresses to your cluster's IP Allowlist.
If your search UI sends search requests directly from your users' browsers (for example, with a search-only API key), those requests come from your users' IP addresses. So the IP Allowlist is only a fit when all requests to your cluster go through your own servers.
Open your Cluster Dashboard and click on "Cluster Configuration" in the left pane.
Scroll down to the "IP Allowlist" card.
Click on "Add Address", and enter an IPv4 address (like
203.0.113.7) or a CIDR range (like203.0.113.0/24), with an optional description.Click on "Save".
Changes take about a minute to apply, and they apply to all of your cluster's hostnames. You can list up to 25 addresses.
The Typesense Cloud dashboard can always reach your cluster, even with an allowlist in place.
If you've put your cluster behind a proxy like Cloudflare, you want to allowlist the proxy's IP ranges. See Custom Domain or CNAME.
When you clone a cluster, the new cluster does not carry over the allowlist.
You can also manage the allowlist using the Cluster Management API.
