Synonym Suggestions

Typesense Cloud can look at the searches on your site that found no results, and suggest synonyms that map them to words your documents already contain. For example, if users search for "sofa" and your products say "couch", you'll get a suggestion to show "couch" results for "sofa".
Suggestions are generated weekly by an LLM, using your own API key with Anthropic, OpenAI or any OpenAI-compatible provider.
Each run is billed to your account with that LLM provider.
Setting it up
Synonym Suggestions need Typesense Server v30.0 or above.
Turn on Search Analytics for your collection.
Open your Cluster Dashboard, click on "Synonym Sets" in the left pane and then on the "Suggestions" tab.
Click on "Set up suggestions", and enter your LLM provider, model and API key.
Optionally, add email addresses under "Email suggestions to", to get new suggestions by email.
Check "Suggest synonyms every week" and save.
To get suggestions right away instead of waiting for the weekly run, click on "Run now".
Reviewing suggestions
Each suggestion shows the search and the suggested synonyms. Click on "Accept" to review the words and whether the synonym should be one-way or multi-way, and save it to a synonym set for that collection. Click on "Dismiss" to skip it, and we won't suggest it again.
You can also manage suggestions using the Cluster Management API.
